Preliminary investigations into the killing of a family of four in Cairo's Fifth Settlement indicate that a financial dispute between the father and the arrested suspect may have been behind the crime, as prosecutors continue working to establish the full sequence of events and motive.

The case began when the bodies of a mother and her two daughters were found inside a vehicle in the Al-Narges neighbourhood of the Fifth Settlement. Investigators later located the father’s body at a separate location, establishing that all four victims belonged to the same family and that the crime involved more than one scene.

According to preliminary investigative findings, the father and the suspect had been involved in financial dealings and had an existing dispute. Investigators are examining information indicating that the father was killed first before his wife and daughters were lured to another location. Authorities have not yet issued final findings on the exact sequence of events.

Police have arrested the suspect, and investigators are questioning him about the killings and his financial relationship with the father. Prosecutors have also ordered forensic examinations of the crime scenes and requested further police inquiries.

Prosecutors ordered autopsies to establish the causes and approximate times of death and directed investigators to review surveillance footage, trace the vehicle's movements and question witnesses as they reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the killings.
