A planned Amr Diab concert at the American University in Cairo has triggered wide debate in Egypt after organizers offered a VIP package priced at LE1 million for a group of 15 people. The figure quickly turned the concert from an entertainment event into a wider conversation about luxury experiences, class, and access to major live performances.
The concert is scheduled for May 1, 2026, at AUC in Cairo under the theme “El Hekaya.” Ticket prices reportedly start at LE1,000, with higher individual categories reaching LE6,000 and LE7,500, while another group package for 10 people is priced at LE175,000.
Although the widely circulated LE1 million price is not for a single individual ticket, the reaction shows how major concerts are increasingly becoming part of a luxury entertainment market that many ordinary fans may find out of reach.
