This weekend’s calendar across Canada blends signature winter festivals with indoor culture and food-forward events. From major performing arts programming in Vancouver to late-season winter celebrations in the National Capital Region, the Feb 6–8 lineup offers a wide range of options for families, couples, and visitors. Below is a curated snapshot based on official festival schedules and organizer listings.

Toronto

Toronto’s weekend skews toward indoor concerts and performance festivals. Highlights include a Saturday evening show by Cowboy Junkies at Koerner Hall, plus the Rhubarb Festival running through Saturday at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. On Friday, “Sounds of Blackness” is listed at Harbourfront Centre. For sports fans, the Toronto Marlies host the Springfield Thunderbirds Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Ottawa

Winterlude anchors the capital’s weekend programming. Canada’s official Winterlude schedule lists BARBEGAZI on Friday evening, a public ice-carving challenge on Saturday, and Rideau Hall’s Winter Celebration Saturday afternoon, followed by “The Nordic Race” on Sunday morning. Snowflake Kingdom programming at Jacques-Cartier Park also includes “Afterslide” on Friday night as part of the weekend slate.

Montreal

Montreal leans into winter culture and comfort food. Igloofest runs through Feb 7 at the Old Port, while La Poutine Week spans Feb 1–7 citywide (and beyond), featuring participating restaurants and public voting. Tourisme Montréal’s weekend picks also spotlight additional winter events and indoor options, including programming at TOHU.

Vancouver

Vancouver offers a strong arts-and-lifestyle mix. The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival continues through Feb 8, while the Hot Chocolate Festival runs Jan 17–Feb 14 with vendor activations and themed events. For an evening visual experience, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park’s “Love Lights” is scheduled through Feb 22. Local weekend roundups also list additional citywide activities from Feb 6 to Feb 8.
