Liquid Egg Products Recalled in Ontario and Quebec Over Salmonella Risk, With Warning to Restaurants and Institutions

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled Supreme brand liquid egg products in Ontario and Quebec over possible Salmonella contamination, in a notice aimed specifically at hotels, restaurants, and institutions. The affected items include 1 kg Liquid Whole Eggs and Liquid Egg White products listed in the agency’s updated recall notice dated April 21, 2026.

The official warning goes beyond telling businesses not to consume the products. It also says they must not use, sell, serve, or distribute them, making this a direct operational alert for commercial kitchens and food-service supply chains. The CFIA notice identifies the target audience as hotels, restaurants and institutions, with distribution in Ontario and Quebec.

The recalled products include multiple lot numbers and best-before dates under the Supreme Liquid Whole Eggs and Supreme Liquid Egg White lines. The recalling firm is Supreme Egg Products Inc., and the notice appears in Canada’s official food recall and safety alert system under a formal identification number.

From a public health perspective, Salmonella symptoms can begin 6 to 72 hours after exposure and may include fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, chills, and headache. Canada’s public health guidance says people who think they may be infected should contact a health care provider and avoid preparing food for others while sick.

For restaurants and institutions, the immediate response is clear: isolate any matching stock, stop using or serving it, and verify lot codes and best-before dates against the CFIA recall list before returning similar inventory to service. This kind of alert carries added weight because liquid egg products are commonly used in high-volume food preparation.
