Women’s hockey: Canada reaches semifinals after 5-1 win over Germany as Poulin returns

Canada advanced to the women’s hockey semifinals at the Milano-Cortina Games with a 5-1 quarterfinal win over Germany on Saturday, with captain Marie-Philip Poulin returning from a knee injury and scoring her 18th Olympic goal to tie Hayley Wickenheiser’s all-time record in women’s Olympic hockey.
Reuters reported Canada will face Switzerland on Monday after the Swiss upset Finland 1-0, while the U.S. meets Sweden in the other semifinal.
