Yasmine Sabri Takes on New Cinema Lead

Egyptian actress Yasmine Sabri is entering a new stage in her film career after completing the shooting of her new movie “Naseeb,” a project that places her at the centre of a full cinematic lead role.
The film wrapped its final scenes in Marsa Alam and has now moved into editing and sound mixing ahead of its expected theatrical release. The project is described as a mix of drama, romance, and action, giving Sabri a wider space than many of her previous cinema appearances.
Sabri stars alongside Syrian actor Motasem Al-Nahar, in their first film collaboration, with Khaled Sarhan, Rahma Ahmed, and several guest stars also joining the cast. The film is written by Ahmed Abdel Fattah, directed by Ahmed Khaled Amin, and produced by Albatros, led by producer Kamel Abu Ali.
The significance of “Naseeb” goes beyond another new release. It is a test of Sabri’s ability to lead a film built around her screen presence after appearing in major ensemble or co-starring projects, including her recent cinema appearance in “El Mashrou X” alongside Karim Abdel Aziz.
For Arab cinema audiences, the film also comes at a time when more actresses are seeking stronger positions at the box office, moving beyond supporting roles into films carried by female star power. “Naseeb” will therefore be watched as both a commercial and artistic step in Sabri’s career.
