The new Saudi series "Habitain" is set to join the summer 2026 drama season, with its premiere scheduled for September 2 on Yango Play. The eight-episode production combines social drama, action and crime in a story set in Riyadh.
The series places cars, street racing and Saudi drifting culture at the centre of its story rather than using them simply as a backdrop for action scenes. The plot also explores love, betrayal, loyalty and the consequences of decisions made in the past.
One of the main storylines follows Ahmed, known as "Al-Hudhud," played by Naif Al-Bahr. A skilled driver once involved in Riyadh's street-car and drifting scene, Ahmed served years in prison after causing his brother's death in 2014. When he is released in 2024 and tries to rebuild his life, circumstances draw him into working with a drug-smuggling gang that wants to use his exceptional driving skills.
His path eventually crosses with a narcotics officer, pushing the story into a confrontation involving crime, pursuit and escape while also exploring the possibility of redemption and second chances.
The cast includes Naif Al-Bahr, Abdulmohsen Al-Nimr, Faisal Al-Zahrani and Reem Al-Ali. The series is written by Ahmed Nada, directed by Al-Fawz Tanjour and produced by Kalila. Preparation and production took more than two years, according to comments by Al-Nimr about the project.
Interest in the series has grown following the release of its trailer, which highlights car chases, action sequences and Riyadh's street-driving culture. Reports published on August 20 confirmed that the series will begin streaming on September 2, 2026.
