Toronto welcomes Ghana and Panama today, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, for a Group L match at Toronto Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The fixture is Match 21 of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and marks another major test for the city after its opening World Cup matchday earlier in the tournament.

The match carries both sporting and fan-service significance, as Ghana and Panama begin their campaign in a group that also includes England and Croatia. For Toronto, the evening is another opportunity to demonstrate its readiness to host large international crowds under the city’s “World in a City” theme.

Toronto is hosting six World Cup matches between June 12 and July 2, along with FIFA Fan Festival Toronto from June 11 to July 19. That means each matchday is also a practical test of crowd management, public transit, road planning, safety, and the overall visitor experience.

Fans are being urged to plan ahead, as organizers say there is no parking at or near the venue and recommend walking, cycling, or using public transit. Road restrictions and closures are also in effect today around Liberty Village, Fort York, Lake Shore Boulevard West, Strachan Avenue, and Exhibition Grounds, with matchday closures scheduled roughly from 2:00 p.m. to midnight.

The TTC says it is running enhanced service for Toronto’s World Cup matchdays, with additional staff and ambassadors to help fans. It also warned passengers to expect delays and detours between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. because of fan marches heading toward the stadium, especially on the 501 Queen, 504 King, and 63 Ossington routes.

GO Transit is also adding service during the World Cup period, including increased train frequency and late-night Lakeshore West and Lakeshore East trips after matches. Toronto Stadium and FIFA Fan Festival Toronto are both located near Exhibition GO Station.

For fans not attending inside the stadium, Toronto is listing Ghana vs. Panama as part of its public match broadcasts at Nathan Phillips Square at 7:00 p.m. FIFA Fan Festival Toronto is also open today from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway.
