Toy Story 5 has continued its powerful box office run, crossing the $400 million mark worldwide and confirming the enduring strength of family animation at the global cinema market.
The Disney and Pixar sequel opened with a major global debut of about $312 million, including a strong North American performance, before quickly moving beyond the $400 million milestone. Newer industry estimates have placed the film even higher, at around $585 million worldwide after two weeks in theaters.
The film’s success reflects the lasting appeal of one of Pixar’s most famous franchises, which first became a global cultural phenomenon in the 1990s and has continued to attract both children and adults across generations.
Industry reports say Toy Story 5 has also maintained the No. 1 position at the box office, outperforming new competition and showing that well-known family franchises remain among the safest bets for studios during the summer movie season.
The latest installment brings back the emotional world of toys, friendship and childhood memories, while adding a modern angle that speaks to today’s families and the growing role of screens and technology in children’s lives.
For Disney and Pixar, the strong performance of Toy Story 5 is more than a commercial win. It is also a sign that audiences are still willing to return to theaters for familiar stories when they combine nostalgia, humor and broad family appeal.
