The consular mission of the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Montreal has concluded its work in Mississauga, Ontario, after two days of providing direct consular services to members of the Egyptian community in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.

The mission, held on Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17, 2026, at Mississauga Career College, was part of an effort to bring selected consular services closer to Egyptian citizens living in Ontario and reduce the need to travel to Montreal for certain official procedures.

Services made available during the visit included authentication of signatures for powers of attorney, authentication of selected documents issued by Canadian authorities, commercial document authentication, and authentication of educational certificates and proof of enrollment after prior approval by the Egyptian Cultural Office in Montreal.

The visit carried practical importance for Egyptian residents in Canada, particularly families, seniors, students and business owners who often need official document services for personal, educational or commercial purposes.

The mission also reflected the Egyptian Consulate’s effort to maintain direct communication with members of the community in Ontario, especially in cities with a strong Egyptian and Arab presence such as Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area.

Such visits are widely valued by community members because they make essential services more accessible and help strengthen the connection between Egyptians abroad and their home country, while taking into account the realities of living, working and studying in Canada.
