Heba Magdi Returns to the Public Eye as El-Sisi Wishes Her a Full Recovery

Egyptian actress Heba Magdi returned to a public event on Wednesday, taking part in Egypt’s official celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday after months of medical treatment that she largely chose to undergo away from the public eye.

During the celebration, Magdi performed “Khod Be Eidy,” a song associated with the late Egyptian artist Shadia and dedicated to the Prophet. Dressed in white with her head covered, she made her first major public appearance since revealing that she had been through a serious health crisis and a difficult course of treatment.

Following her performance, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi addressed Magdi directly and offered a prayer for her recovery, wishing her healing and good health. The moment drew particular attention because it came after a period in which the actress had received widespread messages of support from her audience and colleagues.

Magdi first spoke publicly about her health struggle in June, describing an extremely difficult illness and treatment without personally disclosing the full details of her condition. Her husband, singer Mohamed Mohsen, later said her health had stabilized and that she had made significant progress through her treatment.

Mohsen thanked El-Sisi following Wednesday’s event for the gesture toward his wife. Magdi also shared a video from the celebration on Instagram, accompanying it with a brief message of gratitude: “Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.”

Despite the difficult months she has faced, Magdi continued some of her artistic work when her health allowed, including completing her role in the sixth season of the television series “Al Maddah,” while keeping much of her medical journey private.
