Health Canada has warned consumers about unauthorized and counterfeit health products seized at Thumbs Up 4 Shiatsu in Mississauga, saying the products were never assessed for safety, effectiveness, or quality and should not have been sold. The public advisory was issued on March 25, 2026.

The seized products include prescription drugs, injectable products, and counterfeit Mounjaro items containing tirzepatide. Health Canada said some of the products may have been sold or administered for weight management, pain relief, hair loss, or cosmetic purposes.

The agency said the danger goes beyond the lack of authorization. These products may contain too much, too little, or none of the active ingredient at all, and they may also contain undeclared high risk additives or contaminants. Injectable products carry added dangers, including infection, scarring, allergic reactions, and other serious adverse outcomes linked to contamination, improper handling, or unsafe administration.

Health Canada also said the manufacturer of Mounjaro confirmed that the seized products were counterfeit. Consumers were told not to buy or use these products and to obtain prescription drugs only from licensed pharmacies. Anyone who has used them and has health concerns should consult a licensed healthcare professional.

The official advisory lists products such as Tofacitinib Tablets IP 5 mg, Rhofanib 5, Haircare by Laboratoire Revitacare France, Bepanthen, Bepacto, Biacto, Mounjaro vials, Mounjaro KwikPen, and a KwikPen carrying invalid identification details.
